Scots Kick Off Outdoor Season at Ice Breaker Duals

ROME, Ga. – The Scots Track & Field commences their outdoor season with the Victor Ice Breaker Duals on Saturday, March 7th. Although the meet consisted only of individual scoring and no combined team scores, the Scots still turned in a record-breaking performance with a combined 9 school records broken and 49 new personal bests.

Women's Recap – 5 School Records and 18 PRs
Kaitlyn Snodgrass shone brightly in the jumps events, boasting two new school records in the long jump (5.07, 5th) and the triple jump (10.14, 6th). 

Megan Shinn and Catherine Money went the distance in the 10K, with Shinn setting a new school record with her 41:18.68 time and 1st place finish while Money achieved a new personal best with her 48:05.60 time and 4th place finish.

Alana Rodriguez sped through two school records, setting new best times in the 100m (12.91,10th) and the 200M (26.43, 14th).


Men's Recap – 4 School Records and 31 PRs
In the hammer, Joshua Panetta smashed through the previous school record, launching a 43.48m throw and a 6th place finish.

Manny Palmer broke his own personal bests twice this weekend and earned two top 10 finishes. His long jump landed him in 10th place (6.44m) and his triple jump earned him 5th (13.42m).

Jackson Lakeman turned a top 10 finish in his pole vault performance, launching up to 3.92m (10th) for a personal record.


The men's runners were routinely impressive, with 10K runner Tyler Tangel turning in a 10th place finish and a 35:18.60 time. Meanwhile Clarence McLean turned in two top 10 finishes with one school record in the 400M (49.96, 4th) and an 8th place result in the 200M (22.05).

James LeNeve and Adyn Elliott both also broke school records this weekend, with LeNeve running a 4:17.62 in the 1500M (19th) and Elliott posting 1:59.77 in the 800M (5th).

Steve Cope, Elliott, and Sam Cocchia dominated the 3000M Steeplechase event, placing 2nd (10:37.76), 3rd (10:43.76), and 6th (12:55.28) respectively, with Elliott setting a new personal best as well.

The Scots will continue their outdoor season on March 13th at the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet in Williamsburg, Ky.
