MARYVILLE, Tenn. - Maryville's women's tennis team took on Piedmont University in a CCS matchup on Friday, April 10th. While there were great matches and lots of entertainment, the Scots lost 0-7.
Doubles was a competitive effort, but the Lions took all three matches. However, the standout match was from #1 pair Calliana Kondolios and McKena Spencer, who had a thoroughly entertaining match that was deadlocked until the last two games, with the duo falling 5-7.
Singles had multiple matches that could've gone to the Scots, with them being nailbiters all the way through. Spencer had an incredible match at the #1 singles position, fighting in a match that took two and a half hours but unfortunately going down with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-7 (4-7) scoreline. Similarly, Clara Plass had a competitive match that was close until the very end, but lost 6-7 (5-7), 3-6.
The Scots look to bounce back with another conference matchup, this time against Agnes Scott College on Saturday, April 11th. The match will start at 2 p.m.
