EMORY, Va. – Maryville College athletes showcased their skills at the Blue & Gold Invitational, with standout performances led by
Abbey Cox's first-place finish in the women's hammer throw, marking an impressive 43.93 meters—also her season-best in the discus event.
Throws
In the Women's Shot Put,
Rachel Dunbar secured 4th place with a throw of 10.04m, while
Abbey Cox took 6th with 9.61m, and
Maddy McClellan finished 11th with 8.32m.
During the Women's Discus,
Abbey Cox captured 2nd place with a season-best throw of 35.61m.
Rachel Dunbar set a personal record (PR) with a 10th place finish and a throw of 29.99m, while McClellan came in 12th with 20.76m.
In the Women's Hammer, Cox claimed the top spot with a 43.93m throw. McClellan followed with a personal record (PR) of 36.87m, placing 5th, and Dunbar finished 10th with a throw of 31.16m.
