Box Score LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Maryville College men's soccer team fell 3-2 to Washington & Lee Saturday afternoon at Scotland Yard.
Washington & Lee opened the scoring in the 16th minute before adding two more goals in the final seven minutes of the first half to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Maryville responded early in the second half, with Ben Brophy finding the back of the net in the 51st minute off an assist from Ryan Buie. The Scots continued to battle and cut the deficit to one in the 90th minute when Buie scored off an assist from Oumar Kamara, but Maryville could not find the equalizer in the closing seconds.
The Scots recorded five shots, with Brophy and Buie each registering two attempts. Both players found the target once and scored a goal, while Kamara added one shot and one assist.
Maryville will return to action Friday, September 18, when the Scots travel to take on Warren Wilson at 5:00 PM.
