ASHLAND, Va. — Maryville College football dropped a 42-14 decision to Randolph-Macon Saturday afternoon at Day Field.

The Yellow Jackets built a 21-7 halftime lead and added 21 second-half points to pull away. Maryville finished with 305 yards of total offense, including 209 through the air and 96 on the ground.

Freshman quarterback Jaxon Dabrowski accounted for both of the Scots' touchdowns, rushing for a pair of scores while completing 21-of-36 passes for 209 yards. Dabrowski's first touchdown came on a two-yard run with 42 seconds remaining in the first half, cutting the deficit to 14-7. He added a one-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter.

Dewey Whaley led Maryville's receiving corps with five catches for 80 yards, while Teddy Orton added four receptions for 35 yards. Mushaba Zulu paced the rushing attack with 42 yards on six carries.

Defensively, Mark Collier led the Scots with 10 tackles, while Trey Wilhite recorded eight. Aiden Relthford added five tackles and intercepted a Randolph-Macon pass.

Randolph-Macon quarterback Jake Mulhern threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns as the Yellow Jackets totaled 453 yards of offense.

The Scots are on the road again next week to open conference play against Rhodes College.
