Maryville College Director of Athletics Sara Quatrocky named Nikki Whaley as the program’s new cheerleading head coach in August 2021.

Whaley was a four-year member of the Scots cheer squad before graduating magna cum laude in May 2020. She was a Dean’s List member, a Presidential Scholar and a Bonner Scholar all four years. She also was earned NCAA D3 Student Academic & Athlete Awards in each class year.

A Maryville native, Whaley was active in community service throughout her collegiate days. She served as an academic and peer mentor here at the college and was a volunteer at Heritage High School, the Martin Luther King Jr. Center and Mary Blount Elementary School.
