Box Score The Berry College Vikings came to Maryville on a "Pink Out" to raise awareness of Breast Cancer month. The visitors snapped a seven match win streak of the Scots and swept MC 3-0 by the scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-14.
The Vikings (13-4) were paced at the net by Katie O'Rourke's match-high nine kills. Emily Stromberg added eight kills while Stephanie Quinn directed an efficient offense with 29 assists. Stromberg led Berry on defense with 13 digs while Quinn added 11 digs for a double-double performance.
Maryville (9-15) was led by Kelsey Handel's eight kills. Mary Kate White and Kristen Sharp each posted six kills with Sharp adding 13 digs. Mallory Bonee led the Scots' defense with a match-high 15 digs. Sharp had four service aces and Jaclyn Stephens added three block assists.
The Scots will return to USA South action this weekend when they travel to Greensboro, North Carolina to challenge Mary Baldwin and Greensboro. MC remains undefeated in USA South challenges with a 6-0 league mark.
