Box Score 2 The Maryville College volleyball team advanced to 3-0 in USA South Athletic Conference action with a league sweep of LaGrange and Huntingdon in LaGrange on Saturday afternoon.
The Scots defeated LaGrange 3-0 by the scores of 25-17, 25-12, and 25-13. Kristen Sharp, Kelsey Handel, and Mary Kate White each tallied seven kills to pace MC's offensive attack. Kristi Bowlin and Lauren Bonee combined for 30 assists while Mallory Bonee led the defense with 13 digs.
Maryville completed the day with a sweep of Huntingdon College 3-0 by the scores of 25-11, 25-11, and 25-18. Mary Kate White lit up the net with 11 kills while Kristen Sharp added nine kills and nine digs. Kelsey Handel tallied seven kills and four service aces. Madison Coker exploded for eight kills while Lauren Bonee and Kristin Bowlin directed the offense with 29 collective assists. Mallory Bonee paced the defense with nine digs.
Maryville (5-14, 3-0 USA South) will travel to Demorest, Georgia on Sunday to challenge USA South foes Piedmont College and Agnes Scott College.
