Box Score 2 In a USA South quad match on Saturday, Mary Baldwin, Covenant, and Greensboro invaded the Highlands of Maryville College with hopes of upsetting the league's only remaining undefeated squad in conference challenges.
The Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin fell to Maryville 3-0 by the scores of 25-9, 25-9, and 25-18.
Katelyn Rice led Mary Baldwin (0-20, 0-1 USA South) with seven kills in 23 attacks and Reilly Kelly provided 13 assists.
MC's Kristi Bowlin dished out 25 assists while Kelsey Handel threw down a game-high eight kills in 12 attacks. Madison Coker added five kills and four block assists at the net. Bowlin and Lauren Bonee each stroked four service aces while Kaitlyn Flickinger and Stephanie Gleason each returned five digs.
Following a "Senior Day" celebration where Maryville honored the careers of Kristy Newman, Mallory Bonee, Lauren Bonee, Morgan Hall, and Kelsey Handel the Scots swept Greensboro 3-0 by the scores of 25-16, 25-12, and 25-20.
MC's Lauren Bonee dished out 21 assists while Kelsey Handel connected on 58% of her attacks en route to a match-high 11 kills. Sohpia del Campo added eight kills and Mary Kate White added five kills. Mallory Bonee paced the defense with 13 digs.
The Scots will prepare for their final home match on Tuesday, October 14th when they host USA South rival Covenant College at 7:00 p.m. on Randy Lambert Court in the Cooper Athletic Center.
