The Maryville College Lady Scots claimed their second USA South Athletic Conference regular season volleyball title on Saturday with conference wins over Huntingdon and LaGrange.
The regular season title is Maryville's second consecutive USA South title, as the team topped the conference in 2013.
The Lady Scots downed Huntingdon in the USA South tri-match in Montgomery, Ala. in a 3-0 bout — 25-15, 25-13, 25-18 — before knocking off LaGrange, 3-0.
Maryville outscored the Panthers 25-10, 25-18, and 25-17.
During the Huntingdon match, Maryville was led by Nia Haller and Julia Vineyard's eight-kill outings. Vineyard had a .800 kill percentage for Maryville, while Kelsey Handel and Mary Kate White each posted seven kills. Kori Jacot had a total of five.
Lauren Bonee had 19 assists for the Lady Scots, as Kristi Bowlin added 11 for Maryville.
Stephanie Gleason had 13 digs against the Hawks, while Mallory Bonee added 10 of her own.
Huntingdon (7-25, 0-15 USA South) was led by Kalen Morgan's six kills, as Brook Garrison and Bria Rochelle each added five. Lexi Rangel and Rachel Dunlay had seven assists each to lead the Hawks, as Lauren Condon had 10 digs.
Maryville turned away the Panthers in straight sets to earn back-to-back regular season undefeated slates. Kelsey Handel, Abrianna Jones and Mary Kate White each threw down a game-high nine kills with Kristi Bowlin dishing out 14 assists. Rachel Kozemko and Mallory Bonee each paced the defense with a dozen digs each.
LaGrange (16-18, 6-10 USA South) was led at the net by Kaitlyn Sitterson's nine kills.
With the Saturday sweep, Maryville moves to 23-8 overall and 16-0 in the USA South.
The Lady Scots — the only undefeated team in conference action this season — will travel to Martinsville, Va. for the USA South Conference tournament next Friday and Saturday.
