Box Score The Maryville College volleyball team used a dozen kills by sophomore Abrianna Jones to advance in the USA Athletic Conference Tournament with a 3-0 shutout over Greensboro by the scores of 25-13, 25-13, and 25-19.
The Scots connected at a .519 pace in the opening set depositing 14 of 27 attacks. Sophia del Campo and Jones combined for seven kills in the opening 25-13 victory using a 10-0 run after a 13-10 score. Madison Coker closed out the win with a kill.
MC continued their pace at the net hitting 15 of 23 attacks (.478) for the 25-13 second set win. Jones and Kelsey Handel each threw down four kills. The Scots closed out the victory with three Morgan Hall service aces.
Maryville finished off the final set sweep with a dozen kills in the 25-19 win.
During the match, Abrianna Jones connected at a .550 pace with her 12 kills. Sophia del Campo added 7 kills after connecting at a .600 pace. Madison Coker and Kelsey Handel each added 6 kills. Morgan Hall dished out 19 assists with Lauren Bonee adding 11 assists. Mallory Bonee was strong on defense with 12 digs. Stephanie Gleason added 7 digs.
The Scots (24-8) will advance to the USA South Athletic Conference semi-finals on Saturday in Martinsville, Virginia at 12:00. They will play the winner of Friday's match winner between Piedmont College and Averett University. Greensboro College ends their season (16-16).
