Box Score William Peace University put a damper on Maryville's senior day celebrations on Saturday, as the Pacers defeated the Scots 3-0 on Randy Lambert Court.
Maryville celebrated the careers of Stephanie Gleason, Madison Coker, Sophia del Campo and Mary Kate White before the USA South Athletic Conference match.
The Pacers took the match, 25-27, 23-25, 16-25.
Maryville was led by the eight-kill efforts on Nia Haller and Rachel Kozemko, as the pair contributed 16 of the Scots' 34 kills.
Kaitlyn Flickinger tallied 10 digs, while Kozemko added seven. Taylor Youell led the Scots with 12 assists, while Clara Adams and Madison Smith each ha seven. Youell also added four service aces in the contest.
For William Peace, it was Laura Bland who led the way with 12 kills. Liana Solomon had 11 kills, while nearing a triple-double with nine assists and eight digs.
Kennedey Paine had 22 assists, while Carson Williams led the Pacers with 13 digs.
With the loss, Maryville falls to 14-9, while holding a 10-3 record within the USA South. William Peace goes to 18-11, while recording a 10-6 mark in conference play.
The Scots will look next to USA South Athletic Conference foe Piedmont, as Maryville hosts the Lions on Wednesday, Oct. 28th. The match is slated for 7:00 p.m.
