Box Score A Nia Haller kill from a Taylor Youell assist completed a 3-1 USA South volleyball victory by the Maryville College Scots over Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia on Sunday giving MC head coach Kandis Schram her 700th career coaching victory.
The league win by the scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, and 25-12 featured the Scots' sixth straight victory to move Maryville to 7-6 on the season and 6-0 in league play.
Rachel Kozemko finished strong at the net with a team-high 14 kills and a .382 hitting percentage. Madison Coker added 11 kills while recording a pair of solo and assisted blocks. Haller added to MC's offense with an additional 8 kills. Madison Smith and Youell were consistent court generals each dishing out 23 set assists. As Kozemko returned 7 digs, Kaitlyn Flickinger paced the defense with a team-high 19 digs.
"I am elated to share this career milestone with a team that is working very hard to get better every day," stated Coach Schram. "We are about what we can do as a collective group. I see this squad has the ability to dig deep and rely on each other to make our team goals a reality."
Schram is in her 30th season guiding the Scots. Her record to date is 700-372 winning 65% of all her matches.
Maryville will return to the court this upcoming Friday when they host Agnes Scott and Emory & Henry on Randy Lambert Court in MC's Cooper Athletic Center.
