The second half proved a back-and-forth battle, as the game saw seven ties and 19 lead changes. Maryville grabbed the lead back behind five straight points by Spencer Shoffner in the second half 42-41. The Scots would build that lead to 54-47, before LaGrange would storm back.

Maryville was led by senior Christian Ford that boasted 20 points, six assists, two rebounds and steal and a block, as the point guard finished 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Butler – also a senior – posted a double-double on the night. Butler posted 12 points and 13 rebounds, as the senior wing is now only 16 points off becoming the third Scot this season to join the 1,000-point club. Butler currently has 984 career points and 648 rebounds. He'd be the second player this season to reach 1,000 points and 500 rebounds, as Byrd accomplished the feat on Feb. 14.
Shoffner had 12 points behind a 2-of-4 day from beyond the arc, while senior Spencer Peake tallied 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting. Peake sparked a run early in the first half that kept Maryville alive.
