The Maryville College Volleyball team earned their sixth conference victory of the season on Friday night, as the Scots downed Agnes Scott, 3-0.
Maryville looked strong in the first two sets, earning the win, 25-20, 25-9, 25-17.
The Scots had a huge showing during the second set with their 25-9 finish. MC tallied 15 kills in that set without a single error in 29 total attacks. Maryville posted a .517 hitting percentage, while holding the Scotties to a negative .053 hitting percentage.
Maryville moved to 11-10 on the season, as they hold a 6-3 mark in USA South play.
The Scots hit an impressive .344 on the match, while recording 44 kills.
Brianne Sidner led the way, posting 14 kills. The freshman hit .370 in the match, as she recorded three digs and a service ace.
Sidner was the only Scot in double figures, as Nia Haller and Abrianna Jones each had eight kills. Julia Vineyard had six. Saidee McDaniel led the Scots with 36 of MC's 40 assists, as she added five kills and seven digs.
Kaitlyn Flickinger tallied 13 digs to lead Maryville's defensive effort, while Yasmeen Chan had 10 digs. Mackenzie Marcrum and McDaniel had seven digs each.
Agnes Scott was led by four players that tallied five kills, including Resa Knott, Kayleigh McCrary, Bonnie Derks and Morgan Pearson.
Anna Tomkins had 15 assists, as Paige Heck tallied 11 digs.
Maryville's defense held the Scotties to just a .069 hitting percentage on the afternoon.
The Scots face a long weekend, as they travel to Macon, Ga. tomorrow. Maryville will play Wesleyan College (Ga.) at 2 p.m., before taking on John Wesley at 4 p.m. On Sunday, MC will face Piedmont for a 1 p.m. start.
