The Scots volleyball squad capitalized on their momentum seized earlier in the day with a comeback victory over Huntingdon to sweep USA South rival Piedmont College 3-0 in Montgomery, Alabama on Saturday evening.
Maryville outpaced the Lions 25-19, 25-19, and 25-15 behind a consistent offensive attack paced by Arin Wyttenback (8 kills) and Dejane Hester-Taylor (7kills). Meredith Bonee dished out 21 assists. Brianne Sidner and Madison Wilkerson combined for 11 kills while the duo also returned 25 collective digs. Yasmeen Cahn was strong on defense leading the Scots with 15 digs.
Maryville advances to 10-7 overall while going 5-2 in USA South action. Piedmont falls to 7-6 overall and 4-2 in league play.
The Scots will prepare for a pair of key USA South challenge next week on Friday and Saturday. Mc will travel to Covenant and Agnes Scott on October 12-13.
