Scots sweep Berea as Brianne Sidner eclipses the 1,000 career kill plateau

The Maryville College volleyball team kept their league record clean advancing to 10-0 on the season with a 3-0 shutout at Berea College on Wednesday evening, The Scots took the USA South road match by the scores of 25-13, 25-19, and 25-13.

Senior Brianne Sidner deposited nine kills to eclipse the 1,000-kill mark for her career, In 109 total matches played in the orange and garnet, the Marietta, Georgia native averaged over 2.70 kills per set played.

Saidee McDaniel and Meredith Bonee directed the efficient offense with a combined 24 assists leading to a 36% attack percentage.

Dejane Hester-Taylor attacked at an amazing .600 clip throwing down seven kills at the net.

Bonee tallied eight kills while also pacing the defense with nine digs. Natalie Watts returned 11 digs to help hold the Mountaineers to a .068 attack percentage.

Maryville's offense was also lifted by 11 service aces during the league challenge.

The victory advances MC to 19-6 on the season and 10-0 in league action.

Maryville will travel to Decatur, Georgia over the weekend to challenge Covenant College and Agnes Scott College.
