Box Score Maryville College moved to 3-0 on the 2020 season, as the Scots downed Webster University, 12-4, in six innings.
MC posted big innings in the second, third and fourth to move to earn their third win in as many games, tallying a nine-hit attack.
Taylor Campbell added her first home run of the year with a three-run blast, as Morgan Brewer went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run. Kennedy Richardson also had a pair of RBI for the Scots.
Webster University started the scoring in the top of the second inning, as Sheyla Iniguez singled to right field with the bases loaded. Her RBI scored Emma Steltzer for a 1-0 Gorlock lead.
Maryville would answer quickly in the bottom of the second, as Richardson posted an RBI single of her own. Pinch runner Bailey Ensley scored on the shot, before Brewer was able to score on a wild pitch. Richardson would score from second on the play with a throwing error by the catching, giving Maryville a 3-1 lead through two innings.
Campbell would make it a 6-1 game in the bottom of the third, blasting a three-run homer to score Jazmine Geary and Courtney Deck. A Brewer double would allow Ballard to score on a fielding error in right, giving MC a 7-1 advantage.
Avery Bocella cut into the Scots' lead in the top of the fourth with a solo home run to left, making it a 7-2 game.
Maryville added four runs in the bottom of the fourth, making it an 11-2 MC advantage. Christina White's RBI double scored Ashton Hayden. Brewer drew a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch, before Richardson walked with the bases juiced for an RBI. A wild pitch would score Annie Fowler for the nine-run lead.
Webster plated a pair of runs on RBI doubles by Steltzer and Amanda Kraus in the top of the fifth, before Brewer's RBI double to center scored Campbell for a 12-4 final in six innings.
Maryville (3-0) was paced by Campbell and Brewer. Richardson went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run, while Deck was 1-for-3 with a pair of runs. White was 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI, as Ballard and Geary scored a run each with matching 1-for-3 efforts.
Amaya Goodloe added a hit for MC, as Hayden, Fowler and Ensley scored a run each.
Hannah Bruce moved to 2-0 on the season, pitching 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. She had one strikeout on the night.
Webster (1-3) followed Steltzer who had the only multi-hit day for the Gorlocks. She went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
