Maryville Takes Two in Georgia

Scots Blank Wesleyan, Agnes Scott

MACON, Ga. – Maryville completed a 3-0 week and improved to 11-0 in the Western Division of USA South with 3-0 victories Sunday against Wesleyan and Agnes Scott.

Kenzie Brewster led with seven kills and Katie Wallin added a double-double with 10 assists and 10 digs to highlight the opening win over host Wesleyan. Those set scores were 25-14, 25-18 and 25-21.

The second match saw Maryville get seven kills from Amii Ingalls and 11 digs from Emily Rogers, while Meredith Bonee pitched in another 23 assists to her impressive career total. The Scots prevailed 25-15, 25-13 and 25-12.

Bonee is up to 2,138 assists for her career.

The Scots (15-8) host third-place Berea for Senior Night in an important matchup Wednesday at the Cooper Athletic Center. Start time is 7 p.m. The Mountaineers enter at 16-9 overall and 8-2 in conference and have won six of their last seven matches.

Maryville prevailed 3-1 at Berea late last month in a tight match. They also defeated second-place Covenant on Lookout Mountain in a 3-2 thriller Thursday night, coming from two sets down to maintain their first-place position.
