MARYVILLE – Maryville Director of Athletics Sara Quatrocky has named Jasmin King the first head coach of the College's new stunt program.
The Scots announced in March that stunt is becoming Maryville's 17th varsity sport when competition begins in the 2025-26 academic year.
King starts July 1 and immediately begins recruiting for the Orange and Garnet.
"I am thrilled to have found an experienced coach in Jasmin King," Maryville Director of Athletics Sara Quatrocky said. "Her enthusiasm and expertise in stunt is unmatched, and we are lucky to have discovered her through this process. Jasmin's commitment to the student-athlete experience starts in the recruitment process, and that will fit in with our culture from the very beginning, which we are all excited about."
King arrives after having built the stunt program at Central Michigan on the club level beginning in 2019. She recruited regularly and maintained a team of student-athletes, making sure the program was improving on a consistent basis.
"Growing female opportunities through additional varsity sports is a priority, and we are lucky to have found a great leader and mentor to help with us our goals," Quatrocky said. "We can't wait for Jasmin to join us in the coming weeks."
Coaching and Officials Background
This past year, King added duties as a stunt official, scoring the competitions and providing leadership and guidance to coaches and athletes and helping ensure that the games are conducted in a safe and fair manner.
"I want to express my deepest gratitude to Sara Quatrocky, Athletics Director, for trusting me to build the organization's first ever stunt team," King said. "I'm eager to lean into my experience from CMU and as a former collegiate cheerleader into this emerging sport.
"I am excited to incorporate all the new strategies, strengths and lessons learned into this new program."
King graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in child development and family studies. She added a master's degree in administration-human resource management from CMU in 2024.
"I am thrilled to continue working in this growing sport and I am thankful for the opportunity to work with such an engaging athletics department and college that cares deeply about all sports, student-athletes, students and employees," King said. "I am looking forward to this new chapter in the beautiful state of Tennessee. Go Scots!"
King lives in Alcoa with her husband, Nicolas King Sr., and their three children.
Scots Hosting August Stunt Combine
King and the Scots are hosting the South's first stunt recruiting combine Aug. 25. The new head coach expects more than 80 potential student-athletes and 12-15 coaches to gather inside Alumni Gym for the event.
Maryville is the South's first Division III program to add stunt, which has been named an emerging sport by the NCAA.
