MARYVILLE – Horrible road conditions in Western North Carolina and Upper East Tennessee after the effects of Hurricane Helene are preventing Brevard from being able to transport its football team to Maryville – even by Sunday – so this weekend's anticipated USA South clash is postponed.
Brevard is located 35 miles south of Asheville in Western North Carolina. That area received between 10 and 30 inches of rain the last few days, and flooding is being described as catastrophic.
The teams await word from the USA South conference office on a makeup date.
Maryville plays next Saturday at LaGrange in a 1 p.m. kickoff.
