Coming off victories in back-to-back games, Maryville looks to keep the momentum flowing in conference play. The Scots defeated Wesleyan 75-34 to start 1-0 in CCS play, surrendering their fewest points in a game since 2021 when MC defeated Agnes Scot 98-25. MC also defeated Warren Wilson last week 91-51, posting a three-year high scoring effort. With Asbury on the horizon, the Scots look to continue their diligent defense along with their prolific offensive outputs. Last time out against the Owls,
Emma Huskey totaled a season-best 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while leading her team on the boards with seven rebounds.Â
Braxton Fritz led the team with a +26 point differential, and totaled six assists and four steals to lead the team in both categories. Maryville has forced 46 turnovers and swiped 30 steals in their last two games combined, holding their opponents to 30% shooting from the floor.Â
This is the first meeting between the two teams.Â

Maryville opens its 2025 Collegiate Conference of the South schedule with a home date against Asbury. The Scots and Eagles are meeting for the fourth time in series history and the first time since December 2021, when Maryville prevailed 85-63 here at Cooper. The Scots also swept a home-and-home series in February 1994, winning 89-80 in Wilmore and then taking an 88-72 decision in Maryville. Upcoming stat lines to watch include
Reed Kemp approaching 1,000 career points. Kemp enters Tuesday's game with 949 collegiate points, which includes his two seasons at Missouri Western State. He has scored 792 points with the Scots.
Chase Morgan is just ahead of that pace at 795, with
Jackson Garner next at 770. Garner is up to 13th on the all-time 3-pointers made chart with 157, passing both Spencer Beatty (1995-99) with 152 and Dante Hoppa (2015-19) with 154 during last week's win over Warren Wilson when he was 7-of-11 from long range. Morgan is up to 11th on the MC career blocked shots chart with 57, having just eclipsed Felix Uadiale (2020-22) with 56. He is three blocked shots away from moving into the Maryville top 10.
The Scots enter at 9-4 overall and 0-0 in the league, while Asbury is 4-9 and 0-1.
