MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Maryville College women's soccer delivered a dominant showing on Saturday afternoon, defeating Agnes Scott 13-0 at the MC Soccer Complex to remain unbeaten in conference play.
The Scots improved to 6-5 overall and 4-0 in the CCS, controlling every phase of the match from the opening whistle. Eleven different players contributed to the scoring barrage as Maryville fired 49 shots — 31 of them on goal — while holding the visitors without a single attempt.
Anne Marie Konieczny opened the floodgates just four minutes into the contest, and goals from Hannah Smoot, Avery Brown, and Madison McDonald quickly followed to make it 4-0 inside the first 15 minutes. The Scots never slowed down, adding tallies from Ellie Schuld, Katie Cotten, Sam Lehocky, and Katie Corley to take a commanding 9-0 lead into halftime.
Lehocky capped a stellar afternoon with a hat trick, scoring in the 36th, 61st, and 73rd minutes. Cotten added a pair of goals, while Maya Baggett, Regan Boyd, Konieczny, Smoot, Brown, McDonald, Schuld, and Corley each chipped in one.
Maryville's defense was flawless as goalkeepers Kristen Burns and Trinity Atkinson split the shutout, combining for 90 minutes of scoreless play. The back line allowed zero shots and zero corner kicks on the afternoon.
The Scots also dominated on set pieces, recording 13 corner kicks and committing just three fouls.
Maryville will look to continue its momentum when it travels to face its next conference opponent next week, aiming to extend its four-match conference winning streak.
