DALTON, Ga. – Maryville now has two golfers inside the top 10 at the Collegiate Conference of the South Men's Golf Championship.
Tristen Evans joined
Zack Chatman in the top 10 after both fired 3-over-par 75s on Day 2 of the three-day event. Evans bogeyed his first three holes of the day but kept it together with a birdie on each side to card 39 on the front and an even-par 36 on the back. He is tied for ninth place. Chatman posted his second straight 75, riding three birdies to scores of 37 and 38 to land in a tie for seventh through 36 holes.
Jack Porter shot 81 and Ried Woods 83 to round out the Maryville scoring.
Reid Morgan came home in 85. Maryville remains in fifth place at 48-over 624. The Scots carded a 314 score on Tuesday after opening with 310.
Piedmont boosted its lead from two strokes to nine, leading Huntingdon 593 to 602. LaGrange and Covenant switched places, with LaGrange now third at 610 and Covenant fourth at 614. Individually, Covenant's Drew Silman shot 73 and maintains a three-stroke lead over LaGrange's Jay Manley, who also carded 73 Tuesday.
Wednesday's final round tees off at 8 a.m., with the Scots beginning play at 8:40 a.m. alongside golfers from Covenant.
