LEXINGTON, Ky. – Jack Porter fired an even-par 72 on Sunday to lead Maryville at the Transylvania Fall Invitational.
Porter's round, highlighted by a birdie, lifted him to 14-over for the weekend and made him the Scots' top performer.
Justin Sweeney carded a 78 to finish at 29-over, while Will Beyer added an 80 to land at 18-over. Pierce Shinavier rounded out the scoring with an 81, giving him a 20-over total.
As a team, Maryville finished 18th overall with a combined score of +75 at the University Club of Kentucky.
"We did not play our best or to our full potential. However, I am very pleased with the effort, attitudes, and the want to improve from the guys," Head Coach Jesse Lawley said. "To see Jack, our lone junior, finish with an even-par round on the week was huge for momentum for him and the team. I'm very excited to get back on the grind with the guys and their willingness to want to practice and improve over the next couple of weeks before our event in Cincinnati."
Maryville now sets its sights on the Stateline Shootout, scheduled for September 27-28 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
