KODAK, Tenn. – The men's golf team competed at the Island Pointe Intercollegiate on March 12–13, putting together a solid two-day performance and finishing fourth overall.
The Scots opened the tournament with a strong first round, shooting 304 (+16) to sit tied for first after day one. Pierce Shinavier led the way with a 74, putting him tied for second after the opening round. Jack Porter followed with a 76 to sit tied for fifth, while Justin Sweeney and Jack Jacobsen each shot 77 and were tied for 13th. Will Beyer, who played as an individual, posted an 86, and Maciver Davis finished the round with an 89.
On day two, Jack Porter led the Scots with a 79, finishing the tournament tied for 10th with a 155 (+11) total. Pierce Shinavier shot 83 in the second round to finish tied for 14th at 157 (+13). Jack Jacobsen added an 82 to place tied for 18th overall with a 159 (+15).
The team's strong opening round and multiple top-20 finishes helped secure the fourth-place finish in a competitive field at the Island Pointe Intercollegiate.
The Scots return to action March 30-31 at the Music City Invitational.
