CONYERS, Ga. - The Maryville Scots men's golf team closed out competition at the Discover DeKalb Invitational with a 13th-place finish, posting a three-round total of 986 (+122).
Maryville opened the tournament with a 78 before improving in the second round with a 74, but ultimately finished with an 80 to cap the event. Despite the challenges of the course, the Scots showed resilience throughout the tournament.
Individually, Jack Porter led the way for Maryville, carding rounds of 78-74-80 to finish with a 232 (+16). Jack Jacobsen followed with a 244 (+28) while Justin Sweeney recorded a 250 (+34). Will Beyer added a 270 (+54) with scores of 94-85-91, and Maciver Davis rounded out the lineup at 271 (+55) after shooting 91-96-84.
The Scots will look to build on this experience as they prepare for their next event. Maryville returns to action April 27-29 at the CCS Conference Championships.
