SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Maryville College men's golf team concluded competition at the Port City Classic on Tuesday, finishing 19th in a 20-team field after three rounds of play.
The Scots opened the tournament with rounds of 313 and 315 before matching their first-round score with a 313 on the final day, closing the event with a 941 team total.
Jack Porter led the way for Maryville, finishing tied for 24th overall with rounds of 75-70-79 for a 224 total. His second-round 70 marked the lowest round of the weekend for the Scots and helped him sit tied for second after day one.
Pierce Shinavier delivered a steady performance across three rounds, carding 75-80-75 to finish tied for 48th at 230. He bounced back in the final round with a 75, matching his opening-day score.
Jack Jacobsen showed improvement on the final day, posting a 77 after rounds of 82 and 84 to finish 92nd overall at 243.
Justin Sweeney recorded scores of 81-81-83 to total 245, while Will Beyer rounded out the lineup with rounds of 87-86-82 for a 255, highlighted by his strongest round coming on Sunday.
Maryville's consistent team scoring on the opening and final rounds demonstrated resilience on a challenging Savannah layout as the Scots continue their spring campaign.
The Scots will return to action March 12-13 at the Island Pointe Intercollegiate Tournament.
