Women's Basketball Dominates Scotties in CCS Action

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Maryville College women's basketball delivered a dominant wire-to-wire performance Saturday afternoon, rolling past Agnes Scott College 92–39 at the Cooper Athletic Center to improve to 5-6 overall and 2-2 in CCS play.

The Scots set the tone early, jumping out to a 23–7 first-quarter lead and never looking back. Maryville controlled all facets of the game, building a 51–18 halftime advantage and extending the margin to as many as 53 points in the fourth quarter.

Emily Wilson led all scorers with a game-high 19 points, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and knocking down five three-pointers in just 17 minutes of action. Wilson also added two assists and a steal in an efficient all-around outing.

Emily Allen provided a spark off the bench, finishing with 13 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc, while also contributing four steals. Kadence Stoner was nearly flawless in her minutes, posting 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting with four rebounds and a steal.

Maryville's balance was on full display, with five players scoring at least 10 points. Leighan Jackson chipped in 10 points, while Ella Haney added six points and seven rebounds, anchoring the Scots on the glass.

As a team, Maryville dominated the rebounding battle 58–21, including 27 offensive boards, which fueled a 25–2 advantage in second-chance points. The Scots also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 22 points off Agnes Scott miscues, while the bench contributed an impressive 55 points.

Defensively, Maryville held Agnes Scott to 30.4 percent shooting and just 15.4 percent from three-point range, forcing 16 turnovers and allowing no lead changes throughout the contest.

The Scots will look to carry the momentum forward as conference play continues.
