CANTON, Ga. – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) announced the unanimous approval of Maryville College to continue as a conference affiliate in football, softball, and women's golf for the 2027-28 academic year.
Maryville previously competed as an SAA affiliate in football and women's golf beginning in 2025-26 before joining the conference as a full member for the 2026-27 academic year. The Scots will transition back to the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) as full members but have been approved to maintain affiliate membership in all three sports for 2027-28.
Maryville football has made an immediate impact in the SAA, demonstrating its ability to compete against nationally ranked opponents. The Scots' women's golf program also made its debut at the SAA Championship last spring, finishing seventh while establishing a new single-round team scoring record for the institution.
The 2026-27 academic year will mark Maryville's first season competing in SAA softball.
