DANVILLE, Ky. - Maryville men's tennis dropped their match on Valentine's Day to future SAA foe Centre College, marking the end of their first away slate of the season. Showing grit from start to finish, the Scots provided entertaining competition but ultimately fell 0-7.
Doubles was quick to fall, but singles gave some close efforts, namely from James Smith, playing a nailbiter of a match but dropping the match 6-4 5-7 0-1 (7-10) at #1 singles. Jonathan Crane also had a competitive match at #5 singles but was downed 4-6 3-6.
The Scots look to bounce back at home in their double-header on February 22nd, against Mississippi University for Women and University of Tennessee Southern.

The closest match from doubles was from #3 doubles team Maggie Hackney and Josie Mcrae, playing tactical doubles to bring them to 5-5, but Centre prevailed, taking it 5-7. From singles, Mckenna Spencer had an entertaining match that had many swings of momentum, but Centre won once again, taking the match 4-6 2-6.
