MARYVILLE, Tenn. - Maryville's women's tennis team had a close encounter against Truett-McConnell University on April 3rd. The match, despite many momentum shifts and close matches, ended up with the Bears taking the win, pushing the Scots to 6-6 on the year.
Doubles proved to be the initial momentum shift for the Scots. After losing a match, #1 pair Calliana Kondolios and Mckena Spencer evened the score by taking their match 6-2. With the point on the line, #3 pair Josie McRae and Jasmine Muecke delivered, winning 6-2 to send the Scots up 1-0 in the match with the Bears.

After dropping two singles matches, Clara Plass continued her good form on the year by winning her nailbiter 6-3, 7-6 to pull the Scots back to even on the scoreboard. After Truett-McConnell won another singles match, Maggie Hackney pulled the score back to even once again for the Scots, winning a battle of a match at the #5 singles slot 6-3, 2-6, 6-0 to send it to the last match on the court. Unfortunately for the Scots, it didn't result in a win, despite a rollercoaster of a match that was incredibly entertaining.
