Hawks too much for Scots

Box Score

MC Sports Information

The Maryville College diamondmen dropped their second consecutive matchup with Great South leader Huntingdon College after the Hawks defeated the Scots 12-3 on MC's Scotland Yard on Saturday evening.

The Hawks pounded out 16 hits scoring a pair of runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings.

MC pushed across two runs in the fourth when a Landon Talley triple cleared the bases scoring Nick Dean and Blake Gentry.

Huntingdon tacked on six runs in the final two innings to put the game out of reach. They stroked six hits in the frames and took advantage of a pair of MC errors.

The Scots scored their only additional run in the eighth inning when Talley recorded his third RBI with a run scoring single to right field scoring Mikee Moore.

Trevor Brackett (3-5) suffered the loss for MC. Bracket worked six innings allowing 10 hits.

Maryville's seven hits attack was led by Talley's 2-fpr-4, 3 RBI performance.

Huntingdon (26-10, 9-2 GSAC) will take on Maryville (17-18, 4-7 GSAC) for the final game of the series on Sunday. First pitch on MC's Scotland Yard is slated for 1:00. MC will celebrate "Senior Day" and honor their 10 departing senior student-athletes in a pre-game ceremony.
