Box Score The Women's Soccer team at Maryville College opened up the season with nationally ranked Lynchburg and lost 4-0. The Scots fell behind early, trailing 3-0 at half before ending the night with a 4-0 loss.
"It was a tough night for us to open the year," said assistant coach Jon Baker. "Lynchburg is a very good team and unfortunately, we weren't up to the challenge on opening day. We will improve and be better for playing a team like Lynchburg."
The loss drops the Lady Highlanders to 0-1-0 on the year. The Scots conclude action in the Roanoke Invitational when they take on Roanoke tomorrow at 7:30 pm.
