Box Score 2 The Maryville College volleyball team continued to challenge the best programs in the country this weekend before their USA South schedule begins. At the Randolph Macon Invitational in Ashland, Virginia, MC dropped their first pair of matches on Friday evening to begin the tournament.
The Scots fell to Trinity (TX) 3-0 by the scores of 25-19, 25-13, and 25-14. Kristen Sharp finished with a team-high nine kills while returning 11 digs. Morgan Hall joined Sharp as a team leader with 11 digs.
In Friday's nightcap, Maryville fell to tournament host Randolph Macon 3-0 by the scores of 25-14, 25-18, and 25-13. Kelsey Handel was strong at the net with six kills while Sharp added five. Stephanie Gleason paced the defense with 10 digs.
Maryville (1-5) will finish the tournament on Saturday with matches against Hardin Simmons (TX) and Virginia Wesleyan.
