Box Score Sierra Siegel and Allyson Hale have been a solid 1-2 punch for the Maryville College Lady Scots soccer program this season. The match against LaGrange College was no exception. The dynamic duo combined for five goals and five assists to shutout their USA South foe 8-0 on Saturday evening on MC's campus.
Hale found Siegel just a minute into the contest for her 15th goal of the season. Just eight minutes later, Sierra returned the favor and found the speedy Hale streaking down the left side for Hale's 11th goal of the season at the 8:53 mark. Just before the half, Gabby Billstrom was setting up in front of the net and left a left footer for Hale to plant into the back of the net for her 12th goal of the season. At the half, Maryville had a 3-0 advantage over the Panthers after out shooting LaGrange 10-1 in the first period.
Sierra Siegel was in a giving mood early in the second half distributing goals to Lizzy Simmons (48:54) and again to Allyson Hale at the 57:35 mark. Following a foul, Siegel took a shot over four Panthers and buried it into the top right of the net for her 16th goal of the season just after the 63rd minute. Siegel finished her evening with an assist just minutes later when Kara Tubb scored her first goal on a touch from the junior. MC scored their final goal on a corner kick OWN GOAL at the 89th minute to complete the 8-0 shutout.
MC's Rachel Taylor and Mandy Marshall combined in goal to earn the shutout. They both turned away four combined shots on goal.
The Scots advance to 9-6-1 overall and 7-2-1 within the USA South. LaGrange falls to 5-11 and 2-7 within the league.
Maryville will now prepare to host Ferrum on October 24th and Greensboro on October 25th to close out the regular season.
