LaGrange College used a Ty Edwards RBI base hit bunt in the 12th to defeat the Maryville College Scots 3-2 in the second game of a three-game series on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers took an early lead on a safety squeeze by Kyle Nerbonne scoring Chris Laye in the secong inning.
Maryville evened the score with a Matt Jones RBI double that scored Garret Gresham in the sixth inning.
The Scots took a 2-1 lead in the eighth when Nick Dean sent Gresham home on an RBI single to left field.
LaGrange sent the game into extra innings when Adam Terrinoni doubled and Alec Redden stroked an RBI single up the middle off MC closer Matt Dyer.
LaGrange's Gage Mooney earned the win with 3.2 innings of relief as Tyler Brooks earned his first save of the season. Maryville's Seth Debity tossed eight innings of five hit ball allowing only one earned run. Matt Dyer (2-2) suffered the loss in four innings of relief.
Mayville's offense was supported by Garrett Gresham and Matt Jones who each tallied a pair of hits.
LaGrange advances to 6-14 on the season and 4-7 in USA South challenges while Maryville falls to 9-9 on the year and 4-7 within the league.
The conclusion of the USA South series will be played on Sunday with a first pitch slated for 2:00 on MC's Scotland Yard.
