Box Score The Maryville College baseball team fell to 16-19 on the season after losing a tough non-conference road game at Berry College on Tuesday afternoon in Rome, Georgia.
The Vikings (27-13) defeated the Scots 8-1 despite the offensive efforts of MC's Nick Dean and Zack Blonder. Dean finished 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles while Blonder was 2-for-4 with the Scots' lone RBI.
Freshman Joe Jones took the loss in his first collegiate start on the mound. Jones (3-1) surrendered five earned runs in 2.1 innings of work.
Maryville will conclude their 2014 schedule with a tough three-game series at Piedmont College this weekend. The series begins Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
