Box Score On senior day, Maryville senior forward Allyson Hale tallied a hat-trick of unassisted goals to lift the Scots past Huntingdon College 5-0 on Saturday evening.
MC's Lizzy Simmons found Jordyn Lee in the 33rd minute for the eventual game-winning goal. The goal was Lee's second of the season.
Just seven minutes later Taylor Wipf hit the back of the net for an unassisted insurance goal, her fourth of the season.
The Scots went to the intermission up 2-0. Maryville out shot the Hawks 19-1 in the first period.
MC's offense continued their torrid pace striking 17 shots in the second half.
Hale earned her 11th goal of the season beating keeper Leah Leach in the 56th minute. Nine minutes later the senior connected for her 12th goal an unassisted strike. Allyson completed the hat trick just four minutes later before the 70th minute with a left-footed attack. Hale now paces the USA South with her 13 goals.
MC keeper Mandy Marshall earned her sixth victory in net after recording the shutout.
The loss moves Huntingdon to 3-8-2 on the season and 1-6-2 in USA South play. Maryville moves to 10-3-1 overall with a 7-1-1 league record, placing them in third place in the present standings.
Maryville will now prepare for a tough USA South road trip next weekend at Greensboro on Friday and Averett on Saturday.
