Box Score The Maryville College women's soccer team concluded their regular season schedule with a 1-1 double-overtime tie at Covenant College on Wednesday evening.
The tough USA South battle saw the Covenant Scots take an early lead at the 2:48 mark. Anna Porch connected for her 2nd assist of the season feeding Jenna Vreeland with her 1st goal of the season with a shot past MC keeper Mandy Marshall.
Maryville would connect on the equalizer just seven minutes later. Sierra Siegel (Valrico, Fla.) directed her 12th goal of the season towards Natasha Enrique. The freshman from Jacksonville hit the back of the net past Covenant keeper Rachel Lemay for her 4th goal of the season.
Siegel, the TSWA player of the week for the third time this season, jumped up the season records chart with her 12th assist. Her effort is now the 5th best assist total in a season.
The defensive battle began and for the next 100 minutes, with very few shots on goal, the pair of USA South foes could not tally a goal. Maryville finished with four total shots while Covenant only attacked on six occasions.
MC's Mandy Marshall turned away four Covenant attacks while Rachel Lemay recorded a trio of saves for the Scots.
Maryville goes to 12-3-2 overall and 9-1-2 in USA South play. Covenant advances to 10-4-1 and 8-3-1 in league play.
The USA South tournament seeds will be distributed on Thursday, October 29th. First round action will be hosted by the first four seeds in the league standings. Maryville is expected to host a first round matchup on Saturday, October 31st at 11:30 a.m. The opponent will be released by the league on Thursday.
