Box Score The Maryville College Scots fought off a late rally by the Emory & Henry Wasps, as the Orange and Garnet moved to a 2-0 record behind an 81-70 win inside Boydson Baird Gymnasium.

"Four in double figures, and [Tyler] Spicer with nine," Head Coach Randy Lambert said. "You're looking at pretty much our returning players. You have Jay [Bowyer] who played last year. It's good to see him develop more and more as a player. He's just got to keep his intensity level up. It's great to see – eight rebounds, nine assists, 17 points, two steals. That's a nice floor game for a point guard. Shoffner is just Shoffner. He had 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals. That's the kind of game that we need him playing."
Boywer neared a triple-double on the night, as the sophomore missed the mark by only two rebounds and one assist.
Logan Brewer tallied 14 points, while pulling down seven boards and swatting away four blocks to lead a Maryville squad that had 11 in the contest. Freshman Dante Hoppa also had a big night, scoring 11 points, four rebounds and three assists.
