Box Score The LaGrange College Panthers rode a 20-hit attack while taking advantage of five Maryville errors to earn their 13th consecutive victory with a 14-6 USA South win over the Scots on Friday evening in LaGrange's Phil Williamson Stadium.
Maryville's Zack Blonder finished 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and Logan Jenkins scored a pair of runs after a 3-for-5 performance, but the Scots only managed an additional five hits off three Panther hurlers.
LaGrange's Eric Morell scattered seven hits over five innings to earn the win while J. Fleckenstein and Blake Schuck kept the Scots' bats silent in four combined innings of relief.
Panther third baseman Blake Butcher finished 5-for-6 with three RBI and a pair of runs scored. Joe Pradat, Chad Pigg, and Casey Bell each tallied a trio of hits with Pigg pushing across a pair of RBIs.
Maryville's Seth Debity fell to 6-4 on the season after allowing five earned runs in 4.1 innings with LaGrange connecting for 10 hits.
The loss snaps Maryville's three-game win streak giving them a 24-12 overall mark with a 9-7 league record. The victory moves LaGrange to 26-10 and 12-4 in USA South action.
The second game of the three-game series will be played Saturday in LaGrange with a 2:00 p.m. scheduled first pitch.
