Box Score The Maryville College women's soccer team earned their first victory and shutout of the season with a 1-0 win over LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia on Friday evening.
Maryville's Sarah Wickman deposited an unassisted goal at the 19:35 mark in the first half for the eventual game-winning goal.
MC keeper Mandy Marshall turned away the lone Panther shot on goal to earn her first shutout of the season in net. MC's stingy defense led by Mackenzie Hutton, Eleni Mavres, and Rachel Leah held the Panther offense attack at bay.
Maryville's offense, paced by Wickman and Taylor Wipf, kept constant offense pressure on LaGrange keeper Jesse Grogan and the Panther defense with a collective team 14 shots, seven on goal.
Maryville (1-5, 1-2 USAS) will travel to Montgomery, Alabama this evening to challenge the Hawks of Huntingdon College on Sunday evening.
