Box Score The Maryville College soccer women and Huntingdon College Hawks battled 110 minutes to a 0-0 tie in double overtime in Montgomery, Alabama late Saturday evening.
The Scots blasted 28 shots, a dozen on goal throughout the contest, but Huntingdon keeper Leah Leach preserved the tie with 12 saves.
MC's offense was paced by Sarah Wickman and Hannah Clothier who combined for 15 shots and eight attempts on goal. Rachel Leah added five shots for the Scots.
Huntingdon's offense was kept in check by the defensive efforts of Mackenzie Hutton, Eleni Mavres, and Kara Tubb with Mandy Marshall in goal. The Hawks took three shots on the evening with Marshall turning away the only shot on goal.
The push brings Maryville to a 1-5-1 overall record with a 1-2-1 mark in USA South play.
Maryville's women will prepare for USA South foe Covenant College on Tuesday, September 27th at 7:30 p.m. A short ceremony will take place before the game celebrating Coach Pepe Fernandez's 1,000th career game as a Fighting Scot.
