Box Score The Maryville College women's soccer program displayed their top offensive performance of the season on Friday afternoon with a 4-0 USA South shutout victory over Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia.
The eventual game-winner hit the back of the net within the first minute of the contest when Taylor Wipf directed a scoring assist to Natasha Enrique. Enrique's first goal of the season put Maryville up 1-0.
Thirteen minutes later, Wipf sent her second assist of the game and season toward Hannah Clothier. Clothier, a freshman from Knoxville, tallied her first career goal for the Scots.
Just before the 25th minute, Enrique dished to senior Casey Gentile for her first goal of the season.
MC's final score came from senior Janelle Calhoun. Calhoun took a pass from Caitlin Kenney and deposited it past Agnes Scott keeper Iara Moran. The goal was Calhoun's second career while wearing the orange and garnet.
Maryville out-shot the host Scotties 14-1 in the first half and cruised to an 18-7 shot advantage throughout the match.
In goal, Maryville's Mandy Marshall and Rachel Taylor shared the shutout in net.
The loss moves Agnes Scott to 4-4-1 and 2-3-1 in USA South play. The win pushed MC to 3-5-1, 3-2-1 in league action.
Maryville travels to USA South foe Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
