MC got on the scoreboard in the second when Bryce Redaja scored on a Joey Tomlinson RBI double down the left-field line.
The Scots pushed their lead to 4-0 in the third when Andrew Henry placed an opposite field RBI single to left field scoring Logan Hayes. With two outs and Henry on second base, Bryce Redaja deposited his third homerun of the season over the right field wall.
Piedmont tallied their only run when Tyler Burdette scored from third base on a ground out by RBI by Andrew Burden.
Maryville's Zach McGee was brought in to thwart a late Lion rally before Joe Jones earned his first save of the season closing out the victory.
Redaja and Henry bolstered MC's eight hit offensive attack with a pair of hits each.
MC's Heffner goes to 2-1 on the season after striking out seven and allowing only one earned run.
Piedmont falls to 7-3 on the season and 0-1 in league play while Maryville advances to 4-5 and 1-0 in USA South action.
Both squads will return to Scotland Yard on Saturday for the second game of a league three-game series. First-pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m.
