Walters State Invite Results
MORRISTOWN, Tenn. – Isabella Juda raced to a seventh-place result Saturday at the Walters State Invite.

The Scots had only four runners competing after a tough week of sickness, but Juda was her usually stellar self in posting a time of 22 minutes and 12 seconds for the 5K course.

"We have had a tough week with sickness taking out half of the team," Maryville head coach Kaitlyn Carringer-Adams said. "But despite that, those who ran Saturday met their goals for this race. Especially proud of Izzy for placing in the top 10, and all our runners for attacking the hills today and showing more confidence and competitiveness.

"Our goal for the upcoming week is to get everyone healthy and have a good race as a team at Berea next Saturday."

Shelby Armintrout finished 25th after crossing in 26:57, and
Anastasia Lamar was one place behind with a time of 27:13. Newcomer
Danna Vazquez-Barrera finished in 30th place, crossing in 32:21.

The Scots are in action against next Saturday at the Mike & Mary Kay Johnson Classic, hosted by Berea. Start time for the women's race is 10 a.m. Maryville hosts the Maryville College Invitational on Sept. 30.
