CLINTON, Miss. – Maryville wrapped up its 2024 Women's Cross Country season with another positive showing over the weekend at the NCAA Regional Championships.
Â
Isabelle Juda posted a strong race and
Megan Shinn joined her inside the top 100 and under 26 minutes, marking the first time Maryville has had two runners accomplish both of those feats since 2019. Juda crossed in 25:35.94 to land in 95th place, and Shinn posted a time of 25:48.43 for a 98th-place result.
Â
"Our goal at regionals was to continue our overall improvement as a program," Maryville head coach
Kaitlyn Carringer-Adams said. "Izzy Juda had a strong race, running the best Maryville time at regionals since 2019. That was Lilly Simms at 23:19.8 for MC's fastest time ever at regionals.
Â
"And despite Megan being sick this week, she fought through her circumstances and still had a good race."

Â
Kaitlyn Smith and
Alicia Perez were next for the Scots, with Perez running a PR. Smith crossed in 34:30.9, with Perez right behind in 34:41.0.
Madison Smith posted 35:22.4 to round out the Maryville lineup.
Â
"Kaitlyn and Alicia ran the strongest I've seen them run this season, and both placed better than ranked," Carringer-Adams said. "That helped the team place better than originally ranked."
Â
Looking back at the 2024 season, Shinn and Juda now rank among the program's top 10 performers for the 6K and 5K. Shinn is seventh in the 6K and 10th in the 5K, with Juda third in the 5K and 10th in the 6K. The team accumulated four CCS Rookie of the Week awards, placed better at conference than the previous season, won CCS Rookie of the Year and earned two All-CCS awards.

Â
And every runner either earned a PR or ran faster than the previous season:
Â
Isabelle Juda 26:32 (previous season) to 25:32
Megan Shinn 27:25 to 25:07
Madison Smith 36:34 to 33:23
RaeEllen Coffey 38:46 to 34:02
Kaitlyn Smith 39:06 to 34:06
Alicia Perez 43:45 to 34:40
Â
"I'm very proud of the growth of these runners this season," Carringer-Adams said. "Now our goal is to carry it over into next year and continue growing this program."
