Cross Country Runs Records at Regionals

Full Results

SALEM, Va. - Both cross country teams wrapped up the 2025 campaign at the NCAA South Regional today.

"This team is very young- all freshmen and sophomores plus one senior ran today- and they have grown so much this season." Head Coach Kaitlyn Carringer-Adams said. "Our goal this year was to come together as a team and to progress and get in the record books. They did all of this plus more. I'm proud of this group and blessed to have them apart of this growing program."

On the women's side, the team scored their best finish at a regional, beating their previous best by 34 points, placing 19th overall. The team tied their best overall finish at Regionals, and had their 3rd best team average at Regionals in school history. Megan Shinn finished with the 3rd best time at a regional in Scots history, while Catherine Money and Maddie Adair both finished with PRs. Overall for the Scots, this was their 6th best team average time in team history.

"I think overall the season went very well." Sophomore Megan Shinn noted. "Everyone continued to improve and set PRs. We ran a team average time that was in the top five of all MC women's teams, which I think shows amazing progress throughout the season. The race today was very competitive, but I think everyone did a good job of pushing themselves. Personally, I was kind of struggling during the race, so it felt incredible to find out that my time ended up being the 3rd fastest for MC at Regionals! I think today's race was a great way to end the season, and our performances really reflected all the hard work the team has put in."
