MC was shutout until the sixth inning in a game that quickly got out of hand for the Scots, and ultimately fell to Belhaven 19-3. Maryville held their own in the firs two innings, only giving up one run on three hits. From then on, it was all Blazers. Belhaven would go on to score four in the third, five in the fourth, and eight in the fifth before the Scots could pitch a shutout inning in the sixth before giving up another run in the top of the seventh.
Overall, Maryville used seven pitchers and would play 24 total different players throughout the game. Starter
Caleb Jinks would earn the loss, taking his record to 2-1 for the year. The Scots as a team fall to 13-5 and 2-1 in conference play, while Belhaven improved to 11-7 and 1-2 in conference action.
Berry comes into the match at 12-8 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Most recently they dropped a game to Oglethrope 18-10 this past Sunday.
